Grandmother Oak

Meet Grandmother Oak
She stands tall and proud in her summer gown of forest green.
Guardian of the pond
where I take my morning and evening walks, she watches over ducks and geese as they glide on the water, creating ripples in their wake. Occasionally a heron stoops to catch a fish near the shore.
She has a clear view of the full moon
as it rises in the east, while in the darkening sky, I catch a glimpse of Mr. Owl silently swooping down from somewhere within her branches.
